Originally I am from Canton Ohio.  After high school I joined the Marine Corps and spent 11 years active duty.  During that time I attended the University of South Carolina.  Upon graduation I attended Officer Candidate School for the U.S. Army.  I spent the next 10 years as an Army officer and after a total of 21 years I retired as a Captain.  After I retired I moved to Rock Hill SC where I owned and operated my first gymnastics company.  Over the next 18 years the company would grow to be the largest gymnastics company in South Carolina.  We had two locations, one in Rock Hill, SC and a second location in Myrtle Beach, SC.  We expanded the company to include a gymnastics equipment and scoring company, an afterschool company, a competitive volleyball company, and a meet hosting company.  Over those years we hosted two large invitationals and countless state and regionals championships.  I also served as the Assistant state chair for gymnastics in South Carolina. In 2017 I retired from the gymnastics business and moved full time to Myrtle Beach, SC where I stayed for over two years before moving to Cary, NC and operating SGA.  I have one son, Ethan, who is a computer engineer and lives in Charlotte, NC. I also have two dogs, Chewy and Chauncey.  

Hannah Papasidero

I am the wife to Michael Papasidero and mother to Quiyn Avaia Papasidero.  I was a competitive gymnast for 20 years and competed in USAG as a level 10 gymnast. Like most optional level gymnasts, I worked very hard and have spent  countless hours in the gym. I realized early on that the ultimate goal for gymnastics was an education.  My hard work and dedication helped me achieve both an athletic and academic scholarship to the University of Bridgeport. During my college career my team and I won the USAG National Championship in 2009 and 2010. I was also named Scholar athlete of the year in both 2009 and 2010. In 2009 I was named the team captain and anchored on the uneven bars during the 2009/10 season. I've shown great leadership both academically and in the sport of gymnastics. My leadership ability is evident today. I coach all levels and guides all of the young aspiring gymnasts. Most importantly I bring structure of academic excellence and all the mechanics necessary for success in the sport of gymnastics.  I have coached all levels. I have coached the compulsory team, training them in body positions and strengthening them for the skills to come, while helping them and their parents to fall in love with the sport.  I have trained optional level gymnast to qualify to Level 9 Eastern National Championships and Level 10 J.O Nationals. I've had gymnasts sign for Athletic scholarships to both D1 and D2 college.

I am originally from New Bern, NC and moved to Raleigh for school 6 years ago. I graduated with a BA in Psychology in 2017 and am working towards getting my MSW at NC State. I competed as a level 9 gymnast and then competed on the NCSU Club Gymnastics team. I have coached gymnastics for 6 years and have been coaching at Superior since 2014. I currently coach levels 2-4 and am excited to work to make Superior Gymnastics Academy’s compulsory program one of the best in the state!

Maggie Taylor

Hello! I am Maggie Taylor and I coach the level 2 team here at Superior Gymnastics. You also may see me filling in on the recreational side from time to time. I was once a competitive Superior gymnast myself and have basically grown up around the gym. I enjoy being able to share my love of the sport with the gymnasts I coach. I am currently a junior in high school and so thankful for my time spent at the gym. It’s the absolute best job, I am so lucky!

I live in Wilmington, NC and have been in the gymnastics world since 2008 when my daughter started her gymnastics. I was the after school and summer camp director at our gym in Wilmington. When my daughters gymnastics skills grew we knew we had to get to a gym that had amazing coaching and would further her elite and college chances. We have been at Superior Gymnastics since November of 2015. You can find me coaching a recreational class from time to time but I am mainly at the front desk where I will do my best to help you in anyway I can.

I am a student at Meredith majoring in Communication. After I graduate, I plan to get a Masters in School Counseling. I participated in recreational gymnastics for four years, before going on to cheer for six years. I have been coaching at Superior since November of 2018. 

My name is Emily Goddard and I began working at Superior when I moved to Raleigh to attend NC State University (Go Pack!). I’m originally from Mooresville, NC, and have been doing a mix of cheer, dance, and gymnastics since I was two years old. At NC State, I am currently studying Human Biology and am on the Pre-Med track. At SGA, I am a recreational coach who loves to teach young gymnasts to work hard and have fun!

I’ve been involved in gymnastics since I was 6 years old. Although I grew up in Maryland, I came to North Carolina to attend NCSU and I hope to pursue a career in medicine. Working at Superior Gymnastics Academy, my goal is to help kids have an awesome gymnastics experience and build a foundation for lifelong fitness.

Hi SGA! I'm Dana, I'm a coach here at Superior Gymnastics Academy and I love gymnastics. I did gymnastics for 11 years before I started coaching 2 years ago. I love working with the kids and see them progress in their skills and grow their love for gymnastics.

Hey there! My name is Abby Shoemaker and I am a recreational coach here at Superior. I am originally from Canton, NC (near Asheville) but recently moved to Raleigh in August to pursue a Biochemistry degree at NC State University (Go Wolfpack!). Throughout my life, I have been involved in competitive dance, acro, and cheerleading. I began coaching at superior in the fall of 2019. I have always had a passion for working with kids and passing along my positivity and making hard work seem fun! I’m so blessed to be able to make a positive impact on these young gymnasts and I can’t wait to see what amazing things they achieve!
